- Reading – Skim & Quick Note Drill P1 (25mins)
- Clear your mind of everything
- No one is timing you – no need to rush through this assignment – but you should be done in about 25mins
- Step 1. Print out and review the 4-Step Method Reading Cheat Sheet
- Step 2. Print the Reading P1 doc
- Step 3. Watch this 16min video: Preview: Reading P1
- Step 4. Now read the Blurb and Attack the questions. Try to figure out the story through its questions. Make sure to label locations of early questions and underline key points of later questions.
- Step 5. Read the title and Actively Follow the flow of the first paragraph. As soon as you get the main idea of the paragraph, write down a short note of it in the margin (annotating).
- Step 6. Do the same to the remaining paragraphs.
- Step 7. Now try answering the questions!
- SOLUTIONS – The assignment wasn’t difficult, but it helps you learn to destroy any Reading passage with better efficiency and accuracy.
- STEP 1. Watch the attached Reading breakdown (6mins): BREAKDOWN Reading P1
- STEP 2. Open (no need to print) and completely review – SOLUTIONS Reading P1 doc
