An emergency order was signed late yesterday by Education Commissioner Richard Corcoran allowing students, who are in desperate need of financial aid in the form of scholarships, to take the July 19th ACT with a sign-up deadline of Friday, June 18th. As of today, Thursday, June 11th, this gives you 5 weeks to prepare, so get a move on this. There is no SAT scheduled for July, but an SAT will be administered on Saturday, August 29th (July 31st is the sign-up deadline). Although the Bright Futures Scholarship application deadline has been extended from June 30th to July 31st, we believe Florida will further extend the deadline until August 30th to accommodate students who wish to take the already scheduled late August SAT; though, logical and fair, there is no guarantee this will happen.
