Frequently Asked Questions:

  • Is this program only for residents of Coconut Creek?
    • The program is open to any Coconut Creek high school sophomore, junior, or senior, including those whose parent/guardian works/resides in Coconut Creek.
  • How do I register my teen?
  • Is it taking place at the regular community center?
    • It will take place at the Coconut Creek Community Center located at 1100 Lyons Road, Coconut Creek, 33063
  • Will the program prepare for the ACT?
    • Each session prepares for both the ACT and SAT.
  • Is there a cost for the program?
    • It is absolutely free.
  • If the class is free, does it mean that the quality will be lower?
    • Mr. Alberto uses an aggressive approach to his lessons and instruction because he believes any teen, when shown how he or she is manipulated during a test, will realize how simple it is to beat these tests, so long as he or she practices daily. The tests do not measure how smart a student is, they simply measure how well the teen is prepared to beat the test.
  • Does my teen need to bring anything with her?
    • Simply bring pencils, a calculator, and a winning attitude.
  • Will homework be collected?
    • As with most college classes, homework will not be collected. Students are expected to work on daily assignments designed to be completed using a minimum of 30 mins to a maximum of 60 mins per day.
  • Will my teen be grouped with other teens of his level of education?
    • Participants should have at least completed high school Algebra I and Geometry I with a C- average or above. Whether the teen is a student at risk of not meeting graduation requirements or on track to attend an ivy college, each test-taker encounters the same difficulty: handling very tricky tests with tricky questions and answers.
  • Will the class teach tricks to do better on the tests?
    • Rather than teach tricks, Mr. Alberto shows students how to avoid tricks that the test-makers place in front of students on test day. Mr. Alberto, founder of AffordableCollegeSolutions.com, is the former executive director of the Princeton Review of south Florida and a former test room supervisor for the SAT, ACT, and Florida Teacher Certification Exam. His 22 years of test-taking experience has helped thousands of south Florida teens beat the tests and gain access to prestigious colleges and financial aid.
  • What guarantee will my student have for score improvement?
    • As with any college class, there is no guarantee of receiving perfect grades. Mr. Alberto will likely state that the words “guarantee” and “free” died last week. As long as the participating teen provides his or her best effort, Mr. Alberto guarantees that he will provide his best test preparation with Bright Futures scholarships as the group’s target. It’s easy to beat the tests and share your story.
  • What are the required scores for Bright Futures Scholarships?
    • 1210 SAT = 75%. 1340 SAT = 100%. 25 ACT = 75%. 29 ACT = 100%. (Highest SAT: 1600 // Highest ACT: 36)
  • What are the graduation requirement scores?
    • 420 SAT Math. 480 SAT Reading. 16 ACT Math. 18 ACT combined Reading/English avg.
  • Can we sign up for the SAT or ACT through this program?
    • SAT test day sign-ups are done through Collegebaord.com. ACT test day sign-ups are done through ACT.org.
  • Should I sign my teen up for the SAT or ACT before we take the class?
    • This program prepares for and leads up to the upcoming February 2024 ACT and the March 2024 SAT. Participating teens are encouraged to attend each session, complete the homework assignments, and subsequently take the upcoming exams while the information is fresh in mind.
  • What is the registration deadline for the SAT?
    • Registration deadline for the February 10th ACT: Jan 5th, 2024. Registration deadline for the March 9th SAT: Feb 23rd, 2024. Please speak with your teen’s school regarding the details of the in-school (school-day) exam registration.
