The State of Today’s Bright Futures Scholarships

Since the May and June 2020 SAT and ACT tests were canceled due to Covid-19, some colleges have taken a “test-optional” approach regarding an applicant’s submission of test scores along with his or her college application…for the class of 2021. Where did that leave the class of 2020? Many seniors prepared well for those canceled tests but were left “on hold” indefinitely, leaving many seniors wondering how else to pay for college without access to more scholarships. In the state of Florida, there is an odd silence by the state legislature regarding how they are handling this situation with Bright Futures Scholarships.
